ADMISSION POLICY

1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
a) Ensure fair, successful and efficient process for entry, guidance, support and management of learners; b) Provide guidelines for all learners of BRIGHT STAR LEARNING CENT 1 ,2 Scope:
This policy is applicable to all learners who get admission in Bright Star Learning Centre. 1.3 Policy Statement :
a)Learners are the customers of Bright Star Learning Centre and their success and their future is therefore very important to BRIGHT STAR LEARNING CENTRE. b) A holistic approach to teaching and development is therefore preferable to ensure high levels of success. c) All information gathered about and from a learner shall be treated highly confidential. 1.4 Admission requirement

1.4.1 GRADE AGE RRR 3YEARS RR 4YEARS R 5YEARS 1 6YEARS 2 7YEARS
1.4.2 The child who is going to grade R should be 5years in
JUNE OR BEFORE JUNE.
1.4.3 We admit all kinds of children irrespective of their background (political or religion) excerpt children who are deaf and those with psychiatric problem
1,4.4 The school is a Christian school and we practice only Christianity and no other religion, however children from other religion who want admission will not be denied admission but we will make the policy clear to their parents before the admission that, they will not be allowed to practice their religion in the school.
1,4,4 Learners from other schools who apply for admission in Bright Star Learning Centre will have to write an aptitude test and get the pass requirement of 50%
However if the child did not pass the test because of the standard being higher than where he/ she is coming from ,we will still admit the child and do remedial classes for the child without charging any extra fees. This policy is applicable to grade 1 children. Grade 2 up wards must pass the aptitude test.
1.4.5 All new children will have to pay registration fees of R200 to book a space for their children and this R 200 is non-refundable if the parents change their mind.
1.4.6 All old children will have to pay registration fees of 150.
1.4.7 In 2016 all children from grade R to grade 3 will pay monthly school fees of R 400, grade R 350. RR __ RRR R300
1.4.8 All parents must pay their school fess at the beginning of the month or term or the year.
1.4.9 January school fees must be paid in December.
1.4.10 the last date for the payment of the monthly school fees is 5th of that month.
1.4.11 If the parents fail to meet the dead line of the school fees payment date. They are bound to pay 20% interest for the total amount that their owning.
1.4.12 there will be 40 learners per class.
1. 4.13 Admission for the new academic year start from September as soon as we reach the target number of children, we will close the admission
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
1.1) COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE 1.2) PARENTS ID COPIES (CERTIFIED COPIES) 1.3) COMPLETED REGISTRATION FORM 1.4) 2018 JUNE REPORT (GRADE 1 , TO 6 CHILDREN ONLY) 1.5) 1 ID PHOTO.
2) REGISTRATION FEE: R200 FOR NEW CHILDREN AND R 150 FOR OLD CHILDREN IS NON REFUNDABLE.
3.1 SCHOOL FEES FOR 2019: GRADE RRRR, RRR, RR IS R300, R IS R400, 1 TO 3 IS R500 AND 4 TO 7 IS R550 PER MONTH.
3.2 PHOTOCOPY FEES / TEXT BOOK FEES IS R200 FOR GRADE 1-6, R50 FOR GRADE R, RR FOR THE WHOLE YEAR. PHOTOCOPY / TEXT BOOK FEES SHOULD BE PAID IN OR BEFORE JANUARY 2019
3.3 SCHOOL FEES CAN BE PAID YEARLY, QUARTERLY OR MONTHLY.
3.4 THOSE WHO WANT TO PAY THEIR SCHOOL FEES MONTHLY SHOULD PAY IT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH AND NOT THE END OF THE MONTH.
3.5 YOU GET 10% OFF WHEN YOU PAY YOUR SCHOOL FEES FOR THE WHOLE YEAR (12 MONTHS) 5% OFF WHEN YOU PAY FOR 6 MONTHS.
3.6 JANUARY 2019 SCHOOL FEES MUST BE PAID IN DECEMBER 2018 OR BEFORE 5TH JANUARY 2019 AND IS NON REFUNDABLE
3.7) THE LAST DATE FOR PAYMENT FOR THE MONTHLY INSTALMENT IS 4TH.
3.8) IF YOU PAY THE SCHOOL FEES AFTER THE 5TH OF THE MONTH, YOU WILL PAY WITH THE INTEREST OF 20% OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT OWING.
4) SCHOOL HOURS:
4.1) THE SCHOOL GATE IS OPEN AT 6:30 AM AND CLOSE AT 5 PM.
4.2 ALL CHILDREN MUST BE AT SCHOOL BY 7: 45 AM TO ATTEND THE MORNING PRAYERS WHICH START AT QURATER TO 8 (7: 45)
4.3) GRADE R LESSON END AT 1 AND GRADE 1- 5 LESSONS END AT HALF PAST 2 FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY
4.4) THERE IS EXTRA LESSON WHICH START FROM 2 O’CLOCK TO 3 O’CLOCK, AND IT IS COMPULSORY FOR GRADE 1 TO 4 CHILDREN. NO EXTRA FEES FOR THE EXTRA LESSON. 5) FOOD: Children can bring along their own food or buy food from the school tuck shop 6) UNIFORM: UNIFORM MUST BE BOUGHT FROM THE SCHOOL.
6.4) PRICES FOR THE UNIFORM: GOLD T SHIRT R 150, CHECK SHIRT R 150, TUNIC WITH THE SHIRT -R 320, MAROON SKIRT R 150, MAROON TROUSER- R150, TRUCK SUIT, R 350, LUMBER JACKET AND ITS TROUSER: R370, SCARF AND HAT R100, NEIKER SHORT R120
7) TRANSPORT: PARENTS MUST LOOK FOR THEIR OWN TRANSPORT TO CARRY THEIR CHILDREN. THE SCHOOL DOESN’T HAVE ITS OWN TRANSPORT. 8) TOILETRIES FOR THE YEAR.: *6 Toilet rolls (twin saver 2-ply tissue) , *2 two bottles of sun light liquids (750 ml) (We want Sunlight liquid and no other liquid soap). 9) STATIONERY 10.1 Grade 1 to 4 A4 SIZE EXERCISE BOOK: 24 BOOKS FOR THE WHOLE YEAR – 5 BOXES OF STAPLES. – 1 50g glue, 10.2 Grade R A4 SIZE EXERCISE BOOK: 8 BOOKS FOR THE WHOLE YEAR, 1 A4 SIZES DRAWING BOOK, 6 pencils ( HB), A SHAPENER, 2 P0CKETS OF PENCIL CRAYONS, 4 ERASERS, A PAIR OF SCISSORS, ABACUS, PLASTIC FOLDER/ENVELOPE, 2 BOXES OF STAPLES. 1 COLOURING BOOK. 10.3 PARENTS MUST GET EXTRA CRAYONS, PENCILS, AND AN ERASERS FOR THEIR CHILDREN HOME WORK AT HOME.
NB: PARENTS MUST SUBMIT ALL THEIR CHILDREN STATIONERY BEFORE THE REOPENING DAY. TEACHERS WILL BE AT SCHOOL FROM 5TH JAN TO 10TH JANUARY TO COLLECT ALL THE STATIONERY.
